What is NavvyNest?
NavvyNest is a free mobile app that helps families find verified providers, community events, and resources for children with special needs. Think of it as your personal guide through the world of pediatric therapy, special education, and family support services. We've helped over 18,500 families save time, reduce stress, and connect with the right care.
Is NavvyNest really free?
Yes, completely free for families. No hidden fees, no credit card required, no premium tier. Download the app, search for providers, read reviews, bookmark favorites, and access all features at zero cost. We make money by offering optional paid features to providers who want enhanced visibility, but families never pay a cent.
Is NavvyNest available on iPhone and Android?
Yes! NavvyNest works on both iOS (iPhone/iPad) and Android devices. Download from the App Store or Google Play Store. Your account and bookmarks sync across all your devices, so you can browse on your phone and check later on your tablet.
Do I need to create an account?
You can browse providers and events without an account. But we recommend signing up (it takes 30 seconds) so you can bookmark providers, leave reviews, and save your preferences. Your information is encrypted and we never sell your data to third parties.
Finding Providers
How do I search for providers?
Super simple: Open the app, enter your ZIP code, and tap "Find providers." You'll see a list of verified providers near you. Use filters to narrow by specialty (ABA therapy, OT, speech therapy), age group (infants, toddlers, teens), and insurance acceptance. Results update instantly as you refine your search.
What does "verified" mean?
Every provider in NavvyNest submits documentation proving they are who they claim to be. We check licenses, certifications, business registration, and professional credentials. If a provider has a "Verified" badge, you can trust they've been vetted. No fake listings, no scams, no outdated information.
How far away are the providers you show?
By default, we show providers within 25 miles of your ZIP code. You can adjust this in settings to search within 10, 25, 50, or 100 miles. The app shows distance from your location and maps out the route if you want directions.
Can I filter by insurance?
Absolutely. Tap "Filters" and select your insurance provider (Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicaid, etc.). We'll show only providers who accept your plan. This is one of our most popular features because it saves families hours of calling offices to ask "Do you take my insurance?"
What information can I see about each provider?
Each provider profile includes: specialty areas, ages served, insurance accepted, office hours, contact info, website, reviews and ratings, photos, credentials, and links to their Google/Yelp/Facebook reviews if they have them. Everything you need to decide if they're a good fit.
Reviews & Ratings
Can I trust the reviews?
Yes. We don't allow providers to remove negative reviews or pay for better ratings. All reviews come from real families with accounts. We moderate for spam and fake reviews, but we don't censor honest feedbackโpositive or negative. What you see is what other families actually experienced.
How do I leave a review?
After you've worked with a provider, open their profile in the app, scroll down, and tap "Leave a review." Rate them 1-5 stars and write about your experience. Be honest and specificโyour review helps the next family make an informed choice. Reviews are anonymous unless you choose to add your name.
What should I include in my review?
Focus on specifics that help other families: How long did you wait for an appointment? Was the staff friendly? Did your child make progress? Were they good at communicating? Did they accept your insurance without issues? Concrete details are more helpful than "great service" or "terrible experience."
Can I edit or delete my review?
Yes. Go to your profile, find "My Reviews," and tap the review you want to edit or remove. You can update your rating and review text anytime. If your experience changed over time (good or bad), feel free to update your review to reflect that.
Bookmarks & Features
How do bookmarks work?
Tap the bookmark icon on any provider, event, or article to save it. Your bookmarks live in the Bookmarks tab where you can organize, add personal notes, and share with your partner or care team. Bookmarks sync across all your devicesโsave on your phone, check later on your tablet.
Can I add notes to providers?
Yes! Tap any bookmarked provider and add private notes only you can see. Use this to track: "Called 3/15, left message," "Recommended by Sarah," "Waitlist is 6 months," etc. It's like having a personal organizer for your care search.
What are community events?
Events are inclusive play dates, support groups, financial aid clinics, sensory-friendly activities, and educational workshops happening in your area. Tap the Events tab to see what's coming up. Filter by category (social, educational, support) and RSVP directly through the app.
What is the Charity Spotlight?
The Charity Spotlight rotates through nonprofit organizations offering grants, equipment loans, respite care funding, and financial assistance for therapy. Check the home screen to see the current featured charity and learn how to apply for help. We update this monthly.

NavvyNews is our curated feed of articles, policy updates, new programs, and resources relevant to families navigating special needs care. We cut through the noise and surface what actually matters to you. Bookmark articles to read later or share with your support network.
For Providers
I'm a provider. How do I claim my listing?
Download the app, tap "Claim or Create Listing," search for your practice, and tap "This is my business." Upload verification documents (license, business registration), and we'll approve your claim within 2-3 business days. Learn more about claiming your listing.
How much does it cost for providers?
Basic listings are 100% free. You get a verified profile, ability to respond to reviews, and appear in search results.
Can I see how many people view my profile?
Premium providers get access to analytics: profile views, bookmark saves, website clicks, and search rankings. This helps you understand your visibility and optimize your listing. Free listings don't include analytics, but you'll still get notifications when families leave reviews.
Privacy & Safety
Is my information secure?
Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption to protect your data. Your personal information is never sold to third parties. We don't share your email, location, or search history with providers or advertisers. You control what information is visible in your profile. Read our full Privacy Policy.
Can providers see who bookmarked them?
No. Your bookmarks are completely private. Providers can see how many people bookmarked them (if they have Premium), but they never see names, emails, or any identifying information. Browse and bookmark freelyโyou're invisible.
How do I report inappropriate content or providers?
Tap the "Report" button on any provider profile, review, or event. Tell us what's wrong (fake listing, inappropriate content, spam, safety concern). Our team reviews every report within 24 hours and takes action. We have zero tolerance for fake providers or unsafe content.
Technical Support
The app isn't loading. What should I do?
First, check your internet connection. If you're connected but the app won't load, try closing the app completely and reopening it. Still not working? Uninstall and reinstall the appโyour account and bookmarks are saved in the cloud, so you won't lose anything. Contact us at support@navvynest.com if problems persist.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap "Forgot Password?" Enter your email address, and we'll send you a reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes. The link expires after 24 hours, so reset your password promptly.
I'm not receiving email notifications.
Check your spam/junk folder first. Add notifications@navvynest.com to your contacts so our emails don't get filtered. You can also adjust notification preferences in Settings โ Notifications. Make sure "Email Notifications" is turned on.
How do I contact customer support?
Email us at hello@navvynest.com or use the "Help" button in the app. We respond within 24 hours (usually much faster). For urgent issues, include "URGENT" in the subject line and we'll prioritize your request.
